Welcome to our post about Wallace the Rescue Dog – Wedding Gift Oil Portrait. We were recently contacted to create a very special oil painting of Wallace, a 12-year-old rescue dog, commissioned as a wedding gift for his owners. This portrait was gifted by Beth, the bride’s mother and it was an emotional and joyful surprise on their big day.
Wallace is a beautiful dog with a gentle, soulful expression and a personality that shines through with every story Beth shared. Despite a few health issues, including a recent seizure he remains the heart of the family. Described affectionately as both a rascal and an angel.
A Surprise Wedding Gift
Beth contacted us all the way from sunny Florida with the idea of creating a unique gift for her daughter’s September wedding in New York. We worked closely to ensure the portrait would arrive in time, despite the distance and limited photos of Wallace. Scroll down to see a photo of the happy Bridge and Groom!

The portrait was created in oils on canvas and we also arranged for it to be beautifully framed, ready to hang.

After the wedding, Beth sent us this wonderful email –

Framed and Ready
We framed Wallace’s portrait before sending it off to the U.S. using one of our beautiful frames to complement the warmth of the painting.

Wallace, the Rascal
Wallace has a long list of cheeky accomplishments: opening locked front doors, breaking into fridges (and eating all the cheese!), and even pulling an air conditioner unit out of the window. He’s a true character, and we loved capturing both his personality and his good looks in this painting. You can see a short video of the painting below.
