Oil Portrait of Event Horse Pats Jester

Welcome to our latest blog post about the oil portrait of event horse Pats Jester. We are proud to share this oil painting of Pats Jester, a stunning event horse with a strong presence and a well-earned reputation in the competition world. His owner Kate commissioned this portrait as she sold him to an owner in the USA and really missed him. We were thrilled to bring him to life on canvas.

Pats Jester competed in the sport of eventing, and you can even find him listed on the Eventing Ireland website, where his competition record is preserved. Also known for his athleticism and striking appearance, he made a name for himself on the Irish eventing circuit. Capturing that strength and elegance was an absolute joy.

Nicholas painted Pats Jester’s portrait in oils at 16 x 12 size and it really showcase his features well. The soft background helps draw the viewer’s focus directly to the horse, letting his expression and rich colouring take centre stage. His glistening coat, gentle eye and pricked ears all reflect the intelligence and energy of a horse who gave his all in competition.

As with many of our oil paintings, we also worked closely with the client to choose the best reference photo, the right size, and the most suitable background for their space. The result is a timeless portrait that celebrates both Pats Jester’s spirit and the bond he shared with his owner.

We also had a special frame made by our handcrafted framer. It is simply stunning and as a result all of the tones and colours work very well with the portrait too.
