Welcome to my latest blog post of an Old English Sheepdog drawing called barney. My client Chris contact me a few months ago asking if she could commission a small portrait of her young dog and she had the perfect photo that would make for a superb drawing. Chris is a returning client and we love it when customer come back time and time again. It really is a good feeling knowing that we are doing a good job for them.
She definitely wanted a pencil drawing, however was concerned as his fur was white and was worried about it standing off the paper. This is never an issue as I can always gently shade the background and this really allows the dog – or which ever kind of pet you have, to stand out and be seen.
The drawing was a 10 x 8 pencil drawing and you can see the final scan below.
Chris emailed me when she received the portrait.
Hi Melanie,
Just a quick note to say that the portrait has been safely received, thank you. It is beautiful, love the way he stares down the picture, a direct look at you, reminds me of a politician looking down his nose!!!!
Once again, thank you so much.
Kind regards
Chris x
Old English Sheepdog Drawing Photo
I always feel my portraits look far better when photographed as in the images below. They are a much better representation of the artwork.
If you would like a small pencil drawing of your dog, please drop me a line. This portrait was a 10 x 8 however I can draw smaller. Not all of the sizes are on my website, so just let me know your ideas. I can draw to most sizes so if you have a particular place in your home that you would like to have a drawing for, let me know the overall size. We can work back estimating how larger the frame and mount will be and we will then have a good idea of what the portrait size should be. Email me at any time with your ideas!
