Welcome to my latest Labradoodle Pencil Portrait of Parker. I had the pleasure of drawing this gorgeous Labradoodle recently and I wanted to share the finished pencil portrait along with some lovely photos the client sent me. When my client Bassem first got in touch, he wrote:
“I recently came across your website and found your work to be terrific! Do you have time to complete a commission for me for our dog Parker in time for Christmas? We live in the US.”
Parker’s portrait was commissioned as a special Christmas gift and it travelled all the way to the US. I was delighted to take on the commission and create a large 24 x 18 inch pencil drawing of their much loved dog. Once completed, I sent some final photos of the portrait to the client before packing it up for its journey across the Atlantic.
The Finished Drawing
I always mention to clients that the paper I use is a lovely soft off white paper. However depending on the lighting, it can sometimes appear to have a grey or pinkish tone in the photos. The photos I take of my drawings never quite do them justice. Whether you see them here or on my website, they are always more natural and lifelike in real life. Hopefully though, the image below give a good sense of how the finished piece turned out.
Parker the Labradoodle has the most beautiful eyes and expressive face, the kind of subject I absolutely love to draw in pencil. The curls in the coat were a challenge too, curly coats always are! I enjoyed layering the detail though, spending time on it and bringing Parker to life.

Happy Client Photo – Parker and His Portrait
It’s such a joy to receive photos like these below. Especially as Parker is in the photo next to the drawing too. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a photo of a dog with one of my portraits. So here’s Parker sitting proudly beside his drawing. He looks so calm and content!

The portrait looks wonderful displayed in my clients home too!
