Welcome to our most recent Shih Tzu Dog Oil Portraits of Dora and Dolly. These two gorgeous little girls were painted by Nicholas on our usual linen canvas using traditional methods. Returning client Lady Bamford commissioned the oil painting of her Shih Tzu’s which will be framed by their local framer.
Lady Bamford requested their names to be written by hand under each dog too which makes the portrait even more personal. Scroll down to see more photos of the painting along with some in progress photos too.
Shih Tzu Dog Oil Portraits
Here are the photos of Shih Tzu’s Dora and Dolly sat on our plan chest with paintbrushes to show scale. The photos hopefully give a more natural view of the painting.
Often the scans can come out a little flat and unrealistic. So more natural photos of the portraits are a must. Clients always say how they love the finished scans, however when they receive the actual paintings they love them even more. So hopefully photos can go some way to showing the portraits in a more three dimensional and realistic way.
This was a lovely size for Lady Bamford’s Shih Tzu Dog Oil Portraits as they are just under life size. You dont really want to go much larger than life size. Thats why larger dogs work so well on the larger sizes.
